Problém, ktorý náš projekt rieši 

Život na slovenskom vidieku a tradičný život na chalupách sa pomaly vytráca pred našimi očami. Mladí ľudia odchádzajú do miest za prácou a vzdelaním, čím za sebou zanechávajú generácie tradícií vrátane chalupárskeho spôsobu života.                                                                       Podľa OECD zaznamenali prevažne vidiecke regióny od roku 2000 pokles populácie takmer o 7 %, čo je najrýchlejší úbytok na Slovensku. Mnohé vidiecke oblasti sú dnes prázdne a neudržiavané. Bez mladých ľudí, ktorí by sa tieto tradície naučili a pokračovali v nich, hrozí, že tento jednoduchý a krásny spôsob života bude navždy zabudnutý.
Tento projekt chce mladým ľuďom znovu priblížiť krásu slovenského vidieka.  Nejde len o výlet na vidiek, ale o spôsob, ako oživiť tradície, prepojiť generácie a pomôcť, aby dediny nezostali iba spomienkou.

Mnohí študenti v našej skupine z vidieka boli svedkami pomalého opúšťania oblastí, v ktorých vyrastali. Vidia, ako ľudia odchádzajú, domy sa vyprázdňujú a život v dedine pomaly mizne.

The problem we are solving

Slovak village and cottage life is quietly disappearing. Young people are moving to cities for work and school, leaving behind generations of traditions, including cottage life.                                                              According to the OECD, predominantly rural regions have seen their population fall by nearly 7% since 2000, the fastest decline in Slovakia. Many rural areas are now empty, wild, and unkept. Without young people to learn and carry on these ways, a simple, beautiful lifestyle risks being forgotten forever.
This project helps bridge the growing distance between young people and Slovakia's disappearing village heritage. By taking students to the countryside to learn traditional cottage skills and experience countryside life firsthand, we prevent rural traditions from being forgotten and help keep villages alive for the next generation.

Many students in our group from the countryside have witnessed the slow abandonment of the areas they grew up in. They see the people leaving, the houses becoming empty, and the life of the village slowly disappearing.

Čo je cieľom nášho projektu? Ako to chceme urobiť?

Zachovať slovenskú kultúru, tradície, dedičstvo a históriu prostredníctvom interaktívneho a praktického vzdelávania.

Why do we do it? How do we do it?

To preserve Slovak culture, heritage, traditions and history through interactive and hands-on learning.

Our project will be documented through photos, that will later be transformed into a collaborative photobook created with our school magazine. By selecting material, editing text, and designing pages, we will compare rural and urban Slovakia to identify patterns across regions and explain how our understanding has changed. Alongside the publication, we will produce a documentary-style video combining short daily clips with interviews of cottage owners and people we met.                          Finally, we will transcribe the video and include it as part of the photo book, ensuring that together, the magazine and video turn our exploration into knowledge grounded in actual experience, securing long-term learning and wider community engagement.

Kedy a kde bude projekt realizovaný?

Náš projekt bude prebiehať na viacerých miestach na Slovensku od 28. mája do 12. júna, konkrétne v Bratislave, Veľkých Rovniach, Iliašovciach a Háji. Počas tohto času sa budeme zapájať do rôznych aktivít, ako je napríklad sadenie, kompostovanie, opravy a ďalšie práce spojené so starostlivosťou o okolie. Pri tom budeme sledovať a zaznamenávať, ako tieto činnosti pomáhajú pôde, vode, prírode a celému prostrediu.
Súčasťou projektu bude aj fyzická práca podľa potrieb miestnych komunít a spoznávanie ľudí priamo cez spoločnú pomoc a spoluprácu. Na záver, od 10. do 12. júna v Bratislave, pripravíme prezentáciu projektu, kde ukážeme naše zážitky, výsledky a celú skúsenosť z projektu.

When and where will our project take place?

Our project will be implemented across several locations in Slovakia from May 28 to June 12, including: Bratislava, Velke Rovne, Illiasovce, and Haj. During this time, team members will take part in activities including seasonal land maintenance such as planting, composting, and repairs, observing and recording how each task supports local soil, water, and biodiversity, and much more. We will also conduct observation walks in each region to document architecture, art, and landscape use through notes and photography, comparing cultural and environmental differences. We will participate in meaningful physical work based on community needs and engage with locals through contribution. The schedule also includes showcase preparations on June 10–12 in Bratislava, to truly present the experience.
